Philosophy of Ving Tsun
Our goal of improvement is on the self: self improvement through training in mind and body conditioning to heighten awareness and reactions.
We strive to promote:
- Self-Esteem
- Self-Discipline
- Self-Confidence
You will develop:
- Self-Control
- Self-Respect
- Self-Defense
With the tenets of the system as guidelines, the students are taught to:
- Respect themselves as well as others.
- Be thoughtful, hard working and honest.
- Have a winning spirit and confident attitude, with a desire to improve that spells success.
- Abstain from violent behavior, even when being goaded or enticed (always keep your cool); to defend yourself only in order to preserve your safety or the safety of your loved ones.
- Have enough pride and confidence in yourself to keep your body and mind free from pollutants, such as drugs and alcohol; to choose your friends wisely and not take part in foolish behavior; to be loyal to yourself and to your loved ones.
With this philosophy – improvement of the self – a student will develop a humble, confident attitude, dealing well with stress.
The student will develop strength through self-discipline and acquire the ability to lead himself or herself in our society in a manner that will earn respect by peers and fellow students.
